This native web portal enabled testing engineers to simulate and test roaming networks remotely, while being physically located in their home country. It leveraged Mobileum’s patented device (‘cell’), which recreated roaming conditions within a lab environment to support accurate and efficient testing

We began by consulting the engineering team to understand the new product’s functionality, reviewed the current state, and analyzed requirement documents. Key takeaways included:

RRT (Remote Radio Testing) will have 3 main users : Testing engineer, Operator and Admin

This product will allow users to peform actions based on their roles during the testing operations.

Since this technology was new to them, they were not clear about the user flow or the stakeholders involved in each functionality.

While they were still exploring the concept of user profiles, it was up to us to determine which users would have access to specific functionalities.

To ensure smooth operations, we mapped out every necessary attribute and action for each screen, then validated this structure with stakeholders.

Defining roles

After reviewing the current testing protocols and their goals, we created a set of targeted questions for each operator to clarify their needs for the portal.

User flows and wireframes were reviewed and tested by engineers, operators, and project managers before moving to high-fidelity designs. We also used reusable components to support future product scaling.

Before testing the network, users must complete the network configuration. They can either schedule a specific time slot or book the next available slot, depending on network availability.
